LuCiD researcher, Amy Bidgood, is running a 5-week accredited course, How do children learn language?. The course covers various aspects of language acquisition, including how babies learn to pronounce the sounds of English and how they learn words and grammar. It will be of interest to anyone curious about linguistics or developmental psychology, and will help parents and those working with children to understand more about why children’s language develops the way it does.
The course will take place at the University of Liverpool on Tuesday evenings (7-9pm) from 13th October to 10th November.
For more information about the course or how to enrol, you can visit the website. The full cost of the course is £48, and concessions are available for anyone in receipt of certain benefits, full-time students, etc. An online version of the course is also due to run in the spring term, beginning on January 25th.
