A bit about Joanna Kolak
I received my first degree from Jagiellonian University (MA in Psychology, 2013) in cognitive functions in bilingual children, and then later completed a BA from the same university (Portuguese Philology, 2015) in language switching in Portuguese speakers living in the UK. I have worked as a project coordinator and RA on a project investigating cognitive and linguistic development of Polish-English bilingual children (Dept. of Psychology, University of Warsaw). I am a PhD student at the Department of Psychology, University of Warsaw. In my research, I am interested in the role of internal and external factors in fostering balanced language development in bilingual children.
My Role in LuCiD
I worked as a researcher on the part of the project investigating the acquisition of syntax by Polish children (Morphosyntax working group), looking at children’s use and comprehension of verbal morphology and word order.
