What do babies do when? Stages of language development 0-2 years

Babies know a lot about language long before they learn to talk (generally around their 1st birthday). For example newborns can discriminate very different languages (like English and Japanese) but not very similar languages (like English and German). And, by the age of 6 months babies can tell the difference between British English and American English.

In our Stages of Language Development resource we've put together some interesting facts about what typically developing children know about language at different ages from 0-2 years.
