New resources for supporting language development in children with Down Syndrome

Dr Kelly Burgoyne (University of Manchester) has been busy in recent months developing a series of resources to support language development in children with Down Syndrome.

RCSLT Bulletin Article - Down's Syndrome: Language Development and Intervention

Kelly wrote this article for the August edition of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists' Bulletin magazine. It summarises the evidence base around language intervention for children with Down syndrome. It's available to read FREE here. (You can also read other articles we've written for RCSLT here).

Free recordings of advice sessions

During the first lockdown Kelly hosted a series of free online advice sessions with a group of UK experts to support parents and practitioners educating students with Down syndrome at home and/or in school during the coronavirus pandemic.

The sessions covered a range of topics from promoting language learning to developing number and maths skills. Three of the four recordings are still available and can be accessed here.
